In 1975 the earth moved and 90 acres of lush woodland
became Walden Community, the first
neighborhood of its kind in Baton Rouge. What made
Walden Community so special was the foresight and planning
that was taken to preserve the natural environment. Homesites were
carefully carved out from nature, preserving as many trees and native
Louisiana plants as possible.
This year, Wm. Hart Ltd. Realtors received the Baton
Rouge Green Corporate Award for Aesthetics and Environmental Responsibility
in developing Walden and our newest
project, The Pond on Hart's Mill Lane.
The benefits are obvious to homeowners, in the enhanced
value of their property and the quality of life so precious to those
who choose live here.
the
ripple effect
Once again, the Earth moves and people move with it.
The visionaries that made Walden a reality have created a one-of-a-kind
residential community carved from the natural surroundings.
The Pond on Hart's Mill Lane
is just a stone's throw from Walden and offers individuals and families
the unique opportunity to live in a private traditional neighborhood
that captures the charm and feel of neighborhoods of yesteryear. For
those who understand the need for environmental conservation and appreciate
the value of architectural standards, we invite you to explore The
Pond.

unique in every way
The Pond on Hart's Mill Lane
is a sixteen acre gated community comprised of twenty-seven lots of
varying sizes. Unlike traditional neighborhoods designed on a grid
pattern, The Pond has evolved from its natural surroundings.
The moment you drive through the limited access entrance
gate of The Pond you notice the beauty of this private enclave created
by 50 year-old oaks, magnolias and pine, which dominate the site.
The quietness is broken only by the sound of water spraying from the
fountain into the pond which gives the development its name. Quiet
shady nooks have been reserved along the stone-lined pond for residents
to sit, relax and enjoy the feeling of living in the midst of a serene
environment.
At the focal point is the pond. Clear, cool and shimmering
in both sunlight and starlight. Swans majestically swim the waters,
peacocks gracefully adorn the stone-lined banks. We have set the highest
architectural standards and paid strict attention to the smallest
details. The Pond is truly unlike any other neighborhood.

the community
Amenities of The Pond include a large stocked pond,
a lush meditation garden, private controlled access electronic gate,
wrought iron fencing along the community perimeter, custom street
lighting -- all aimed at providing serenity and peace of mind.
Continued quality of traditional homes in the community
is assured through an architectural review committee, and the pond
itself and other common areas are maintained by the neighborhood association.
The Pond on Hart's Mill Lane is a small community that
recaptures the charm and feel of yesteryear -- giving you and your
family the joy of good neighbors . . . natural beauty . . .tranquil
surroundings . . . all part of life's simple pleasures.
